Stick-on
Made of aluminium or brass
25 mm in diameter and 5 mm in height off the floor:
- Enables location and detection with a cane and by foot
May not adhere to the following:
- waxed wood,
- untreated concrete,
- surfaces that have been treated with solvent-based silicone.
For creating warning strips
1. Surface preparation:
- Floor must be sanded using a belt sander
- Dust should be removed and surfaces should be degreased if necessary
2. Adhesion of tactile studs using an installation template. On roads, the applicable standard requires warning strips to be 600 mm wide:
- On the curb on both sides of the pedestrian crossings
- On the edge of railway docks
A gap of 500 mm must be left between the obstacle to be signalled and the end of the warning strip.
Exception: along railway platforms and on pavements less than 190 cm wide, warning strips of width 420 mm are authorised.
For off-road use, the applicable standard requires 420 mm wide warning strips to be installed at the top of each flight of stairs at a distance of 500 mm from the first step.
